Instax Mini 8: How to Use ♡
You've probably seen this camera at least once in your life. Isn't it cute?? I bought myself this lovely gadget during Christmas and I've been obsessed with it ever since! If you are thinking about buying this camera, or have already bought this camera and you're very confused about it, no worries! I'll answer as many frequently asked questions as possible :)
Now, let's get on with how to use it! So before we even take pictures with it, you install the two double AA batteries into it (the box with the camera should come with some). Then we put some film in the back.
To make sure you put it in correctly there should be a yellow mark. (sorry if you can't see it that well >.<)
To turn on the camera, you push the button to the left of the lens. When you turn it on, you'll see a blinking red light at the back of the camera next to the view finder. After it stops, turn the dial at the front of the camera to the setting where orange light is. There's five settings: indoor, cloudy, sunny, very sunny, and hi-key.
Hi-key setting over exposes your shot. I highly recommend using this ONLY when indoors or during night. Now, you don't have to listen to the camera and you can turn the dial to which ever setting you want. If you do that, though, your picture may turn out almost white or almost black. You have been warned ;D
To take a picture, simply click the shutter button to the south of the viewfinder (rear side). You might notice that to the side of the cartridge holder there is an S. There's many theories on what the mysterious "S" means. Some say it means "sora no", which is "empty" in Japanese (it is a Japanese camera after all!) or maybe "slide". The first picture of every new pack of film will be black. Why? Well, if we expose the film to the light before we even put it to any use, they will turn out white. The black slide protects it from light.
After you got rid of the black slide, you are now able to take some pics! There should be a number "10" now instead of an "S". Once you have reached "0" pictures, you can throw away the empty film cartridge and pop in a new one! Here are some pictures I've taken:
If you have any questions, please comment them down below! This was my first ever blog post so I'm truly sorry if it wasn't too great ;-; I'm also really tired hehe. Alright, good morning/afternoon/night everyone! Hope you enjoyed!
